 Dear friends most of you have heard about Ravan Samhita. It is really a great work of astrology rather a work par excellence with exemplary accuracy in foretelling human affairs.

It is said that daitya guru Shukracharya ( mentor of demons) dictated this text to rakshas raj acharya Ravan ( king of demons; ruler of Lanka as in Ramayana) as delivered  to Shukracharya by his father Maharishi Bhrigu ( great sage of astrology).

It contains formulae related to movement of  Sun, Moon, planets, satellites, stars and constellations along with progression techniques ( hypothetical  movement of Sun, Moon, planets, satellites, stars and constellations in relation to one's natal horoscope position).

I studied this work under Pundit Kedar Nath Jha Shastri who him self has studied it at Tribhuvan Nath Vidyapeeth, Kathmandu, Nepal.

In this text acharya Ravan says that in Kali Yuga ( present age) Moon is going to be Marak ( death causing) though in other ages Moon is never Marak being a natural benefic which I have experienced  to be correct.

The text also have chapters on Ayurveda, gemology, Tantra( occult) and  Mantras( sacred words) as remedial measures to ward of evil effects of celestial beings  both common and specific for a person based on one's horoscope.
